Last night, L. asked me if I ever make brownies and I said of course I do, but I hadn't in a while, and then today, I was mixing up the marinade for this buttermilk roasted chicken and there was a brownie recipe on the sidebar, which seemed like fate.

I made the brownies (pics), though I only had 70% Green & Black dark chocolate, so that is what I ( Read more... )

Another gorgeous poem. This time I like the lines, "You always hated that I'd been lucky enough to pick my way through streets I couldn't pronounce to find cathedrals, graveyards."

Poems always make me stop and read aloud. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reading and commenting! I'm always happy to hear people like the poetry, because I love it a lot - it definitely sparks something in my brain that I like to share.

Yeah the passage of time is rough and weird. Like... it feels like I haven't left lj at all! I updated all the time just like... yesterday. But it's actually been about two or three years. Yet I still THINK about it every day, so why does that not translate into action?

Yeah, it seems like a lot of people have stopped posting altogether, or post at very infrequent intervals. I guess LJ's bullshit finally reached a tipping point; I only continue to crosspost because I know there are people who won't leave and I don't want to lose track of them.

Is DW pretty hoppin' these days or is all the action on tumblr? I keep trying these tumblr things but they are too newfangled for me. I think I could handle DW though. I need to sort it because my fannish life is on the upswing again. (I am very impressed by people like you who seem to be constant... I am usually about two years on, two years off with online fannishness, and have been since I was ten years old. In the off two years, everything always changes!)

My DW flist is much more active than LJ, but nothing is as active as tumblr.

I enjoy tumblr but find it not really suited to the types of posts I make here because it makes conversations really difficult and isn't really great as a medium for text. It's great for images though, and for squeeing.
