I stayed up last night until they announced that Romney had called Obama to concede and that he'd be giving his own concession speech, which allegedly had not been prepared ahead of time, so absurdly confident of victory was he. Here's a random question. I know you like makeup. (So do I!) What are you favorite places to shop for it, and what are your favorite brands?

I mostly shop at Sephora for it now, since there is one in my neighborhood. I used to love to go to Bloomingdale's and wander through their makeup section, too.
I am very fond of Clinique and MAC, though I do occasionally pick up other brands if I like a color (all of my lipstick tends to be the same color, which is kind of ridiculous when I get home and realize I've just bought basically the same shade from a different company; I've tried to diversify recently, with decent results). I mostly only wear lipstick these days, and those seem to be my go-tos, though I also really like Buxom and Fresh for lipgloss that isn't too sticky and unpleasant.

I also have a fondness for the colors they use in French manicures - Ballet Slippers, Parisian Pink - like that. I believe those are usually Esse.

Hmm...well, I'm always fasicnated by the differences between different places, and I've never been to America, so: What's your favourite thing that's unique/special about the area in which you live (you can interpret that as widely or narrowly as you like)? Or, conversely, what's something that you've seen in your travels/heard about/read about that you don't have where you live, but wish you did?

I wish New York City were cleaner; every time I go to another city, I'm amazed at how clean it is. *g*
