I stayed up last night until they announced that Romney had called Obama to concede and that he'd be giving his own concession speech, which allegedly had not been prepared ahead of time, so absurdly confident of victory was he. He tempted the wrath of the whatever from high atop the thing, and it struck him down. Whew ( Read more... )

I feel the need for a West Wing marathon.

Here's a random question. I know you like makeup. (So do I!) What are you favorite places to shop for it, and what are your favorite brands?

It might be time for a WW marathon, you're right!

I mostly shop at Sephora for it now, since there is one in my neighborhood. I used to love to go to Bloomingdale's and wander through their makeup section, too.

I am very fond of Clinique and MAC, though I do occasionally pick up other brands if I like a color (all of my lipstick tends to be the same color, which is kind of ridiculous when I get home and realize I've just bought basically the same shade from a different company; I've tried to diversify recently, with decent results). I mostly only wear lipstick these days, and those seem to be my go-tos, though I also really like Buxom and Fresh for lipgloss that isn't too sticky and unpleasant.

I love Sephora. I went there for the first time this past summer (we didn't have one near where I lived in the Midwest, or even here in Maryland). So much fun. I actually just got a new Clinique lipstick: Dubonnet, which I love.

I'm really fond of Clinique's Plum Brandy and Goodness Grapecious. I didn't realize Sephora wasn't a fully national chain. You can order online, though, to refill favorite colors. *g*

There are a few in Minnesota, but Ulta was always much more convenient, as it was just up the road. I think I like Sephora better though.

I think we have Ulta here? On Long Island, anyway, but I've never been.
