re: Homeland - heh. I used to feel that way about The Shield and The Wire.

I didn't watch The Shield, but I did feel it to a lesser extent with The Wire. It's just here it's wrapped up in a whole Damian Lewis Can't Be the Bad Guy thing in my head, which makes it worse.

I didn't know him before we started so that at least didn't bother me. (Did you watch 'Life'? Is that a 'Life' icon? We intend to watch it ... some day!)

Yeah, the icon is from "Life." He's also excellent in "Band of Brothers."

I was like that with Homeland, too. It made me so tense that I'd have to pause it and do something else for a little while. I actually never finished watching S1 so I should do that.

I think week by week might be the better way, so it's not ALL TENSION ALL THE TIME.

Amusingly, as I read this post, I am actually sitting in front of a paused episode of Homeland because I couldn't take the tension. Possibly evil Damian Lewis is very upsetting! I think selective spoilers may be the way to go.

I have no interest in Breaking Bad, but yeah, I watched two episodes of Mad Men and wanted to climb right out of my skin.
