it was hotter than it should have been

So yesterday was my birthday! I spent most of it writing furiously in order to finish a story to post. I'm sure to some people that doesn't sound like a good time, but mostly I enjoyed it. My parents also took me to dinner, which was nice, since we'd had cake and everything on Saturday at the graduation party, which was also a lot of fun ( Read more... )

Well, it's a USA show, so I'm sure it's on 86 million other times this week. *g*

I really liked it, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Thank you!

Belatedly, happy birthday!

And I'm so glad you liked Political Animals! I very much enjoyed the script and thought the pilot held up. Fun (or maybe not so fun) fact: they actually toned down some of the offensive language from the script. Elaine's mother, for example, originally had a couple other seriously offensive slurs when she was talking to Susan. But I agree, a lot of the saltiness did feel like they were just doing it because they could.

Ah, well. The female characters intrigued me and that's really all I require.

Wow. Do you think that was intentional so they could get as much as they had to stay in? Because it really did feel like boundary-pushing rather than necessary saltiness.

Yes.

I think so, but they also used the language to get across what a not-great guy Bud is. It felt more like they were just getting in what they could, but I see how they could justify it, character-wise.

Oh, it totally worked for the character, but I feel like they went overboard a little with it.
