None of us will ever get over Falcon at the Portal. (Mutter, grumble, mutter)

Mark Millar has interesting views on Magneto too.

I don't think I've ever seen something jump the shark like that. I still don't understand what MPM was thinking!

Ugh. My understanding is that he thinks he was being all ~deep~ and ~political~ and ~gritty~ with Ultimates, but it was mostly just facile and poor.

What redfiona99 said!

I've mostly taken to pretending that nothing after Seeing a Large Cat exists, so it's possible I'm mixing it up with one of the others, but I have vague memories that Horizon may have been even more horrifically OOC than Falcon.

I think Seeing a Large Cat is my favorite of all the books, though I did like The Ape Who Guards the Balance.

You are so very much not the only one who can't get over Falcon at the Portal!

Falcon at the Portal was... it was not good, okay.

(The Peabody books are my FAVORITE. Um. I may have discovered them when I was 12. The one doll that still travels the world with me may be Nefret. :D)

I love the Peabody books and have given sets of them as gifts on occasion, but oh man, Falcon at the Portal is one of the worst shark-jumpings I've ever seen. I still enjoyed the books after that, but not with the same emotional investment and enthusiasm.
