In the grand tradition of staying up too late on AIM and writing fic almost nobody wants to read, I posted a story last night:

One equal temper of heroic hearts (on AO3)
DCU; Batman/Wonder Woman; adult; 1,580 words
Bruce and Diana reconcile at Nanda Parbat.

While it technically takes place towards the end of 52, I don't think knowledge of that ( Read more... )

Yeah, you really get hit with what the actual target demographic of Avatar was when you watch it on TV.

I don't know if it was quite this bad when we were the target demographic, but I do remember lots of Hot Wheels commercials, so it's nice to see those are still around. *snerk* I've been using my mute button a lot.

Your mileage may vary, but I would suggest stopping The Runaways after the Joss arc. I loved the first several volumes, then had (somewhat major) issues with volume 6, and was pretty happy with Joss's run. But then it just got bad.

I wish there were at least five times as many trades for the Young Avengers as there currently are. It was one of the first books to pull me in and I still have mass amounts of love for it. Marvel has just never seemed to know what to do with them, though. They are starring in the Avengers: The Children's Crusade series, though, so maybe they'll get their own book again eventually? *crosses fingers*

You're not the first person to mention it gets really bad, so I might do that.

Marvel has just never seemed to know what to do with them, though.

That's unfortunate, because so far I've enjoyed them a lot. It's always the things I like best that seem to be cancelled early. Sigh.

Absolutely agree. I have not even bought the Moore baby trades. I may buy the Immonen baby trade because I think she actually got the characters, at least, which Moore clearly didn't, and the art style was back to being suitable for the book. But I refuse to pay more than half price for the Moore books, even out of completism.

I will make a note to stop at the end of Joss's run, then.

Kate Bishop. I crush on her endlessly. I mean, I always have a soft spot for the one without powers, so she had a headstart in my heart, but she's also amazing so it's not like she even needed it.

She's so fantastic! Smart and take charge and secretly vulnerable but still badass! ♥
