I'd write about my responses to reading more Captain America but since they mostly consist of high-pitched squeaking and cries of "Bucky!" I don't think it'd be very useful to anyone. ♥BUCKY ( Read more... )

hoods and birds, batman, capes and cowls, we make our own fun, comics: captain america, this is captain america calling, comics

Possibly this is because of Civil War, an issue he is on the wrong, wrong side of.Ah, see, we have this debate like, once every two weeks or so in my house lol. Literally discussed it again this last weekend. In general, while I think if it came down to it I would've sided with Cap's argument (partially given what had happened to Johnny and I like to think that if I were in that universe I would be friends with Sue because she rocks), I also would have to admit that it's a bit of a tough choice as well in some regards ( ... )

So yeah, I'd side with Cap, but I could see where Tony was coming from at least.

My feeling was that Tony did the wrong things for the right reasons, and Steve did the right things in the wrong ways. Honestly, I couldn't have sided with either of them. They both had good points and bad ones, and acted like utter idiots about them all. But, of course, this is the wrong position to take, because Tony is Tony and Steve is the Holy Martyr Cap, Hallowed Be His Name... argh, Marvel, seriously, you drive me crazy.

*nods* Exactly. Which is probably why even years later my regular weekend group still sits down and debates Civil War.

I think this last weekend I ended up saying that one deciding factors would also have to be who you were closest with and who managed to convince you that their side was right. It was an unholy mess and I thought best illustrated by the Fantastic Four split of opinion on the matter. One of those things where you just knew it wouldn't end well.

I can sympathize with the argument that you have these people that in general are even more powerful than rocket launchers on average and they wander willy nilly. However, I also think that it would be used as a device to buouy bigotry and hatred rather than just to monitor the less savory "metas" out there.

I haven't read enough of the surrounding story, so I'm just going by what I've seen in Captain America, but yeah. I don't think there's ever been a good outcome of that kind of thing.

Bats is definitely a Slytherin, in all the best (and sometimes worst) ways.

Right? I don't get why people get upset about it. It's who he is.

He just hums really loudly whenever hears a spoiler! *g*

Though I bet Batman would've been king of spoilers.

Ahahahaha! That's just the kind of petty douchebaggery I can see him engaging in if someone pisses him off. And then Alfred is like, "Indeed, sir, ruining Mr. Kent's enjoyment in Harry Potter was a worthwhile endeavor," and he feels bad. But not bad enough not to do it again when Clark gets all fannish about Avatar: The Last Airbender. But Clark has his revenge when Bruce tells him he's caught a few episodes of that new Battlestar Galactica and he might actually not hate it, and Clark is like, "Ha! Tigh is a Cylon!"

he kind of likes that Hermione girl (but secretly loves Luna best of all, shhh.)

And McGonagall. He totally digs McGonagall!
