I'd write about my responses to reading more Captain America but since they mostly consist of high-pitched squeaking and cries of "Bucky!" I don't think it'd be very useful to anyone. ♥BUCKY

Clark is a huge Harry Potter fan and has sorted all his colleagues (in his head while sitting through one of Bruce's interminable powerpoint presentations on not causing international incidents diplomacy) and while the books were coming out, he was all, "DO NOT SPOIL ME!"
Now, this is a story I would love to read more of, sweetie!
As much as I pretty much loath most of what I've read about DCNU I'm really praying that they'll finally do right by Jason. I'm not holding my breath that they won't screw it up but I'm hopeful.
I don't know about any one else but I keep looking at my books lately and just want to chuck most of them. Especially the ones that are becoming irrelevant after the reboot. I hate being told by a comics company that I, and the books I loved to read from them, don't matter any more.
I thought about writing it, but it's so ridiculously in-jokey, you know?

It's the one thing that doesn't sound awful. I don't know if I'm hopeful, but at least I'm not cringing.

Yeah, it seems like a poor long-term marketing strategy to me. But they can't take away the stories we love, even if they take them out of continuity. Fuck that. It just makes me want to write more fanfic about the stuff I love that I think they're doing wrong.
I get that some people might have a hard time with this, but really and truly, Batman is Slytherin. No. He is. I was expecting Slytherin for Bats too! I can see Ravenclaw, but that dude has Slytherin written all over him.
Right? And that's not even getting into his old money/high social status/legacy of his parents business. If you were going to make a poster to recruit for what Slytherin could be without Voldemort's racist influence, you would put Batman on it!
I totally stand by Dick as Gryffindor--though I can definitely see his Hufflepuff traits. But the guy's the Daredevil of the family and Gryffindors are really loyal to their friends too. So yeah, I can see him as both, but I feel like I need to push back against the nanny!Dick thing that seems to be taking over. I think he'd choose Gryffindor because he'd think it was more fun. School could be the one place he could just be himself--sort of like he got away to be Nightwing.
I can see Dick in Gryffindor, no problem. I'd just like it better if he chose Hufflepuff. Where he can be on the Quidditch team with his BFFs, Donna and Wally!
My response to this other than squeaking ♥Bucky♥ a lot is that Lois Lane is most certainly in Gryffindor. Rushing into situations, personal bravery, her motivations for reporting, everything screams Gryffindor to me.
"I could be at home in bed with my best friend." was such a sweet line and I'm really enjoying watching Bucky change from the total angst bucket to someone with friends. I'm only up to #42 but I'm planning to read more this evening and catch up to the more recent trades that I have already read.
Lois is TOTALLY a Gryffindor. Lois is the Gryffindor who passed the info about all the secret tunnels on to MWPP, because she knows and has used all of them.
...now I am picturing MWPP singing "Secret tunnel, secret tunnel..."
Clearly there is something WRONG with me.

I'm laughing at your Batman analysis, because it's true and also because I had a similar reaction to Superman. Superman is the quintessential Hufflepuff, he does what he does because it needs doing, not because he's brave and strong (And I'm iffy on the brave front, somewhere there's a very persuasive post about how Superman can't be brave when he's invincible). So yes. MGK sorted them all wrong and I am irritated.
See, I could go either way with Diana and Clark - they could both be either Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, and I'd be okay with it. Otoh, Donna is def. Hufflepuff and Kon is def. Gryffindor. And Batman is always Slytherin, forever. In my DW comments, someone said that he is a Slytherin who wishes he could be a Gryffindor, which seems about right to me.

Not that I'm bitter about this or anything.
*sighs*
