I was reading through the interviews and the descriptions for the changes and the more I read, the more upset I got. They're killing Martha, dissolving his and Lois' marriage, there'll be no more relationship between him and Kon because now it never happened and they're taking the Kansas out of 'Smallville' to make him more alien.

Basically they're taking away pretty much everything I like about Clark. Plus, the new costume looks really silly to boot. Why armor and why that silly neckline almost all the redesigns have?

All I can say is thank goodness for fanfiction because I think we'll need it more than ever once this mess fires up.

Tim/Kon is the one ship in current DC canon ,where I can believe in ridiculous cuteness and non-fucked-upness, with your qualifier. (I'm mourning for the time, before I'd read all the comics, where Dick/Tim and Tim/Steph were plausibly cute and happy).

Apparently no Martha is my tipping point for the whole Superman thing. I wasn't that bothered before but that is just wrong.

...superman is wearing jeans and workboots and a t-shirt. and a cape. o.O uh, what? granted, i'm not remotely dc's target reboot audience - i mean, i'm a girl - but seriously, that's stupid. (i admit i'm trying to picture christopher reeve leaping tall buildings in a single bound and saving the world from gene hackman lex luthor while wearing jeans and a t-shirt and i JUST CAN'T.)

i can't believe nevermind is twenty years old. wow. i feel old now. (ok, i feel old because christopher reeve is my mental image of superman, but whatever.) i love that you were so into it that even a bomb threat couldn't get you off the subway. heh.

Ha ha ha. I relate to your post on so many levels. I'm also a New Yorker who CONSTANTLY misses my stop (I travel from Bklyn to Midtown) and ends up in Flushing because I'm so deep into my book/zine/music/whatever. In fact, I was late for work today, and my co-worker asked, "What are you reading now, and how was Chinatown?"

WRite some Tim/Kon to comfort yourself, and then write something with Dick being awesome in it, because you're good at it and it will comfort me!
