At noon today, if all goes well, my mother is having a defibrillator implanted. And I'm with you on the TV thing... periodically an actor will come along that the TV producers just like... they see potential and keep trying different fits before that actor either finally breaks through or they give up and move on to the next fixer-upper. These actors keep getting shows, even if their last one only lasted a season or less - names like Nathan Fillion, Tea Leoni, and Eric Close, who might just be the champion... four series that lasted under a year, one that lasted two, before finally landing on "Without a Trace."

I find it interesting that certain actors turn up over and over again every year, and some of them never find the appropriate vehicle (Tea Leoni), and some go on to become George Clooney. Man, I remember before ER, he was on Facts of Life and Roseanne and in a bunch of terrible sitcoms. And I wonder what casting directors or network executives see in those actors and how they decide that they're just going to keep casting, say, Alex O'Loughlin, but not Jason Dohring.

I think they just chose the wrong Green Lantern to focus on. I think John Stewart is the one most people are familiar with today, thanks to the cartoon. (Or maybe it's just that John Stewart is the one I'm most familiar with, thanks to the cartoon. I'm not sure I would have tried to build a summer tentpole movie aroudn Guy Gardner. *snerk*)

One of my problems is my Green Lantern is the one in the Justice League cartoons so yeah, I can totally agree.
Also, hope your Mum is okay.
