Hawaii Five-0

Honestly, I still don't like McGarrett all that much - though it helps if you laugh at him for being the world's biggest Mary Sue - but I do not understand how they mean Steve and Danny's relationship to be read if they're not intending them to be boyfriends. ( minor spoilers )

life, tv: hawaii five-o, i fail at glee!

>>but mostly it's like this show is a paean to the big gay love of Steve and Danny.<<

that's how i read it too. i mean, the end of every episode i'm all "was there a case? did something happen?" i don't know if the ptb are deliberately making it danny and steve's big gay love story, but that's kind of how it looks....

i hope the doctors figure out what's going on with your mom, and that they can fix it.

Yeah, I don't know if it's the PTB or if it's the actors, because I'm not sure I can believe we live in a world where that "I heart you" was scripted, but then again, CBS did put out its own Steve/Danny vid, so....

And thanks. I hope so too!

Steve really is a GIANT Mary Sue... I'm only through 1x17, but he's a SEAL! and also great at tracking people on land! and has handled many kidnappings personally! and is GREAT AT EVERYTHING! H50 reads as gayer than SGA to me, and that's saying something. I think Danny calling people 'babe' is an arguably somewhat misguided attempt at characterizing him as being from New Jersey? But even so... BOYFRIENDS.

I never watched SGA, but honestly, I do not ever recall hearing two men who were not involved with each other (or attempting to pick each other up) call each other "babe". Not even men from New Jersey, and I've known a few of those!

Aauugh. So sorry about your mom. ((()))'s you.

But did you watch CHUCK? Many rays of sunshiny funness.

I haven't watched Chuck since the first one with Volkov's daughter. I don't know - I kind of felt like the baby's birth and the vindication of Mary Bartowski wrapped up the show for me. I have a bunch of episodes on my DVR (the one thing it reliably records *snerk*) but I haven't really felt an urge to watch them.

But it's made of fun! And fun is extra-needed at such a stressful time. Dr. Dot prescribes more eps of CHUCK.

(plus. T. Dalton was extra awesome last night)
