Hawaii Five-0

Honestly, I still don't like McGarrett all that much - though it helps if you laugh at him for being the world's biggest Mary Sue - but I do not understand how they mean Steve and Danny's relationship to be read if they're not intending them to be boyfriends. The "I heart you" from Danny, and the repeatedly calling each other babe, and then Danny's jealous response to the cute waitress trying to sign Steve's cast... what even is that if not the behavior of a boyfriend? And the thing is, I don't really care one way or the other - I'm not particularly interested in reading about them, though I enjoy it when the mood strikes - but I just don't see any other way to read what is there onscreen. like, them being boyfriends makes things make sense that don't make sense otherwise (see again, "babe" which, I know women who aren't in sexual or romantic relationships with each other who call each other that, but I don't believe I've ever heard it in use between two ostensibly straight men).

I guess there was also a plot and a subplot, and James Kyson Lee looked adorable in his brief time on screen, but mostly it's like this show is a paean to the big gay love of Steve and Danny.

So my mother is back in the hospital for observation. They drained another 2+ liters of fluid from the lining of her lungs this afternoon, and they're observing her to try to see what's causing the fluid retention. They have some procedure they can do that is meant to prevent it from happening again, but I guess they're waiting to see if they can figure out what is actually happening first. I find the whole exercise frustrating and anxiety-inducing.

Also, I went to the dentist today, and then I stopped off at Home Depot on the way home to get a screen for my living room window, so now I have the window open. Also, for the first time in ages, I feel warm enough to sit around without having to wear big fleecy socks. Is spring finally showing up? Please?
