for scavengers like me

Jan 13, 2011 21:31

I went to bed early last night in anticipation of going to work today, but I woke up at about 4 am with chills and aches and fever, so I spent another day huddled on the couch, though I definitely feel better now than I did last night at this time, even though every time I cough, it feels like the back of my head might blow off. Unfortunately, I ( Read more... )

At first, when I would see someone post in their LJ about how they were ill, I was all 'man, that sucks' but there are so many people sick right now it's getting a little scary. Glad you're feeling better.

The risotto looks yummy!

Thank you! I was well enough to go to work today, but still sick enough to get sent home early. *snerk*

The risotto was good! I recommend it.

It really was. No work at all. And then at the end you just stir in some parmesan and some butter and that's it! Tasty risotto!

And thanks.

BIG BARDA IS A GODDESS AMONGST PEOPLE.

Oh man, she is so very awesome. She is one of the few people on earth who can fight to a draw with Wonder Woman. And honestly one of the most WELL ADJUSTED superheroes out there. She has her love, her domestic bliss, and still go out and kick ass on alternative days. Also, one of the things you don't get the feel for the from the film is how TALL she is. Like seriously, in the comics, Superman needed to FLOAT about 10cm off the floor in order to see eye-too-eye with her, and while they are glaring at each other, Batman is in the background going through her bookcases and drawers. IT WAS HILARIOUS!

Also, yes, Superman/Batman is so OMGF! Just kiss already! Expect you know, I LOVE Lois to bits. If you ever get the chance, have a read of the Superman/Batman comics. I swear they are baiting the slashers.

And I hope you discover the awesome that is Dinah Lance (Black Canary) and Oracle one day. It just - goddammit, I SHIP them so hard.

It's amazing how much I like that, but I really, really do.

Yeah, I totally ship Clark/Lois, so I'm like, "well, obviously Lois knows and is okay with it! And joins in sometimes!"

And I hope you discover the awesome that is Dinah Lance (Black Canary) and Oracle one day. It just - goddammit, I SHIP them so hard.

Maybe one day.

And the kid, Hiro, obviously ships them too, because the rocket! Half Superman and half Batman. Ahahahahaha!

SO TRUE, SO TRUE.

Power Girl's backstory is completely random. Sometimes she's Kryptonian, sometimes she's magic, sometimes, WHATEVER. You do know the story about how her character design got the way it is, right? This might be an urban legend, but apparently the original artist on the book that introduced the character was like, "I'm just going to keep drawing her boobs slightly bigger in every issue until they tell me to stop." And, well, extremely predictable hijinks ensued.

Heh. I had not heard that story, though it doesn't surprise me in the least.

I aim to please! And thanks.

I wish I could stay home and watch stuff and write stuff all the time, too! Stupid money! Why can't I be an independently wealthy woman of leisure?
