I got my period yesterday afternoon. I knew, when I woke up yesterday morning and my boobs had stopped hurting, that yesterday was the day, but it took its own sweet time finally showing up. Ugh ( Read more... )

Fringe! Hurrah!

It's a JJ Abrams show, which means the mytharc will never make sense, so don't spend time trying. It's all just Rambaldi's big red ball. See point one re: Handwavium. Just pull down your pants and slide on the ice.
Honestly, Fringe is making far more sense than Lost or Alias, mytharc-wise. Individual moments of YOU CAN'T SEE DNA WITH A LIGHT MICROSCOPE aside, of course.

And did from the moment she said to Pacey Peter, "Call me sweetheart again. I really like that."
I loved that bit too.

Broyles! I like how you can tell they hadn't quite decided what to do with him in the pilot, because wow, he's a dick to Olivia, but then he turned into Skinner the stern but supportive boss, which is a role that suits him.
Ha, yeah.

Astrid! ♥ I wish they would give Astrid more to do.
Yes!

I wish Walter would fucking remember her name, at least. I am impressed with the number of wrong names they've come up with, and I find that gag amusing, but it does make it all the more powerful if he ever does call her the right name, you know ( ... )

That's because there's only been two seasons so far. *g*

yeah. I keep waiting for that moment, or for her to get something to do besides be the girl Friday in the lab. Oh well, I still have 19 more episodes to watch or however many there are.

There aren't too many posts in it.

No, but the CHARLIE DOESN'T LIKE COFFEE ICE CREAM line was AWESOME!

Let me know when you find a good one. Because, see icon.

I surely will!

Thank you, J.J. Abrams. That was truly a line for the ages. Never before has one's preference for coffee ice cream been SO DRAMATIC.

No spoilers, but this one time, she actually goes outside!

I love Olivia. I love Peter. I love Walter. Peter and Walter are the heart of the show for me, it's like with SPN. Sure it's fantasy/sci, but it is all about family!

Yeah, it's got a good heart, I think, which is what makes up for the wtfery in the science.

(also, sometimes when he speaks, I think, "Go now and die in what way seems best to you." and I snicker.)

*snickers*

Oh, man, now I won't be able to get through an episode without thinking that. Thanks a lot!

Vulcan mind-meld, Fringe-style!

Anyway, WHAT YOU SAID. It's really become fantastic in season 2, and you will find it gets better and better through the season.

And no worries about Peter rescuing Olivia in early S2 as that trend does not continue. I think they tried to make Josh Jackson macho for a while and wisely gave up on it as futile. The gender role flippage on this show is one of the things I like most about it.

I have a Fringe tag on my LJ sidebar if you want to look at them after you're through with S2, although I've been lax with my episode reviews.

YAY! Another Fringe convert!

I agree with everything you said, and don't want to say too much more, because spoilers and all that, except I don't think you're going to be too disappointed. I think they keep getting better and better. :)

Other points:

1.) FRINGE WOMEN KICK ASS. Full stop.

2.) I loved how they handled Charlie's death. (You know, like, they MENTIONED IT AGAIN?) I was devastated Charlie died (and shipped Charlie/Olivia before we found out he was married, although I like the big brother thing, too), and I actually really liked the next few episodes.

3.) I've said it before and I'll say it again- there needs to be fic with Atrid and Gaeta together, complaining about being awesome in the background and doing something with their CURLS. I want more Astrid. LOTS more Astrid.

And I think I need to get an icon myself :)
