it is very late, even for musicians

I maybe stayed up too late last night, reading, and now I am kind of completely brainfried. Luckily, today has been a quiet day at work so far (tomorrow will be busy), and I can coast by on the pair of braincells I've got left, which are mostly devoted to going, "NEW SPN TONIGHT! WHEE!" even though this episode concerns me.

Speaking of SPN, I haven' ( Read more... )

Mmm, what a lovely poem. *copies over to journal*

I am always pleasantly surprised when a Billy Collins poem has real substance (as opposed to gimicky hipster substance). It always makes me go, "Huh. Right. He is a pretty good poet, after all."

I'm very fond of Billy Collins, actually, at least the bunch of poems I know by him. I didn't realize he was considered a gimmicky hipster.

I don't think he is widely considered that way. I just feel like I have the bad luck of running into poems of his that aren't very good, so I'm always wondering why people like him so much. And then occasionally I see poems like this and go "Oh! That must be why!" which is always nice.

It was the internal show misogyny and the external fan misogyny that made me drop the show like a hot pepper. I didn't watch the video but maybe it's a good thing that they can at least recognize that it exists, or maybe they don't see it at all.

They definitely feed off each other and can sometimes make the fandom a very unpleasant place (well, all of fandom has issues with misogyny, imo, but it's so hard to get people to admit that).

I didn't watch the video but maybe it's a good thing that they can at least recognize that it exists, or maybe they don't see it at all.

I can understand why three guys employed on the show probably didn't discuss the show's misogyny (if they've noticed it), though I like that at least one of them seems to think about these kinds of things at least a little.

I welcome one word/one line squee comments, and I hope nobody ever feels too intimidated to leave me a comment because they don't really have anything to say but, "I enjoyed this!" I leave fb like that all the time, and I love getting it, because it tells me that someone enjoyed my story, and there is no bad there.

And that pretty much says it all. :D God, I'm just happy people comment at all! I am certainly not going to worry about the length or depth of what the comment tells me. Hell, even a very happy emoticon in response to my fic makes me smile. Guess I'm just easy. *g*

Yeah, me, too. I mean, who doesn't love getting in-depth fb? But it's not necessary. A simple, "I liked this!" pleases me a lot.
