The funny thing is, this could still work with the Terminator Salvation timeline...at least, from the plot synopsis I've read of the new media-tie in prequel. TS: From The Ashes by Timothy Zahn. Apparently the CB-John Connor starts out as an ordinary soldier in the Resistance.... I really need to get my hands on that book.
Well, that's the funny thing about time travel, right? John Connor rises up the ranks and becomes powerful enough to send Kyle Reese back to protect his mother when Skynet threatens her. Sarah only raises John as the future leader of the resistance because Kyle tells her he is. Who was John's father that first time around?
Yeah, I really want to know what Savannah's up to in the future. And I enjoyed how so many folks have been coming back. If it was a series finale, a couple of minor characters got brief chances to be seen again. That was nice.

I enjoyed it a lot, even if it seems like I didn't from my post. I just feel like they faffed about quite a bit in the middle of the season when they could have had even more awesome. And I say that as someone who liked Jesse and didn't hate Riley.
And you should totally write about Ellison and Sarah raising Savannah to lead the human resistance.
I think John will still be the leader of the resistance. Or will become it, now that he's in the future. I like to think some things are constant in the Terminator universe.
Hrrrmmmm. But do we *know* Sarah is out of the picture? Now she and Ellison and Savannah are in the present, and Sarah just said that she was "going to stop it".
Which makes me wonder if maybe, this time around, she might not be doing her part to save the world in her own name in a capacity other than mother of the Messiah.
Plus, looks like Weaver is or will be leading her *own* faction of Skynet-stoppers in the future using John Henry. And JH brought Cameron (in chip form) along for the ride, so...
I don't know. Especially if they switch timeline POVs, there could still be plenty of opportunity for the women to be front and center.
Sarah's not out of the picture, but she is in the past (our present), with Ellison and Savannah, so I am imagining she will raise Savannah to fight against the machines, the same way she raised John. With Ellison, and possibly Jeremy, er, Agent Aldridge, helping. And the Latina gangster and the priest.
Which makes me wonder if maybe, this time around, she might not be doing her part to save the world in her own name in a capacity other than mother of the Messiah.
I'm not sure that SPN fits into a revenge tragedy because Dean and Sam don't seem to be dragging innocent people into their revenges (see Livia from Titus Andronicus).
There has been a lot of collateral damage for their personal quest - Pam is just the latest and most obvious person who dies after getting involved in Winchester business.

That would be cool.
