I really do not understand why the CW - or WPIX, the NYC CW affiliate - is showing SPN in fullscreen rather than widescreen. When "Afterschool Special" first aired, it was letterboxed, and now it's not. Why would they do that? What is the point? It makes absolutely no sense to me

I really don't get it - I don't think it saves them money either, and it's just irritating.
the episodes are filmed in widescreen, right?
As far as I know, yeah. It just makes no sense. Yet another network decision that we will never understand.

This is especially irritating when I know the show is really filmed in widescreen, because you can tell the shots aren't framed right in fullscreen. :(
