Hey - I do something similar with delicious for veni_vidi-Vids, and, like you, I like the longer text limit but don't like the extra gunk.

I've found it easier, now, to view the "full view" (icon that shows three lines, which gives the url) and just copy directly from the page (rather than view source). There is less gunk to delete, what does need to be deleted is easier to see, and I just have to add [a href="http:// to the beginning the appropriate line, then close the tag "], copy the title from the line above, close that tag [/a].

It's not perfect, and I'm investigating moving over to an automatic bot thingy, but fwiw I find this method easier after the upgrade.

Edited to replace < with [ because LJ thinks I'm trying to code things.

Ooh, I didn't even think of that, but that is an awesome idea, since I already do the search and replace to add in the appropriate html. Thank you!
