Friday Night Lights

Mama Smash = AWESOME!

I love that we're getting a Smash storyline, but I wish it were a little wider than football. However, I ADORE how he and Matt are still all BFF-y. He calls Matt to come pick him up after he gets chased out of that girl's room in his boxers! Hee! And Matt comes! And asks him for girl advice, which is just a TERRIBLE idea. Oh, Saracen. You should know better.

I am not, on the other hand, enamoured of the Matt/Carlotta storyline. His speech to her is adorably charming, but still. I do not like it. Him breaking up with the cheerleader was hliarious, though.

Tim + Methhead Ferretboy CANNOT end well. oh, Tim. Now that you see the meth lab, get the HELL out. OH TIM! OMG! His apologies. *sniffles* ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I did love that we got a brief scene of him with Tami. The Riggins boys need to have more scenes with Tami.

Coach, honey, your jealousy is irrational yet cute, but dear god, I cannot BELIEVE you accused Tami of not paying enough attention to her family. And I am glad you apologized for being a GRADE-A JACKASS.

And Tami. Telling the teacher off! I don't think she was necessarily wrong, but her approach was not, perhaps, the wisest.

Landry, telling the rapist's brother off. Aw, Landry. And then pouring his heart out to Lyla. That can't go anywhere good. It's easy for her to say the truth will set you free, when you don't know what the hell you're talking about. I hate that they blared Landry's confession all over the commercials and then it's the last minute of the episode. Bah. Stupid storyline. Apparently it will be all melodramatic next week. sigh.

Also, just as an aside, perhaps the defense wouldn't suck so much if we actually knew some of the defensive players' names. And maybe one or two of them became secondary or tertiary characters. I'm just sayin'.

I arrived early to my appointment at the Apple store, and sat around and waited for about half an hour before they called my name. Of course, the minute I handed the guy the iPod, he turned it on, no problem, making a liar out of me. My hand to god, I tried to reset it before I left work and it did not. The guy was like, "Well, maybe you didn't hold it down long enough." Fucker. I realize that they probably do get a lot of stupid people, but I am not one of them. I would not have made the appointment if I had been able to get the thing to restart. Which I told him. And he played it and put it up to his ear and was like, "Hmm... it's making a ticking noise." And I said, "Yes. It's always done that." So he walked me over to another guy, and I explained everything again, and he put it up to his ear, and he was like, "That noise is a little worrisome." and I was like, "It's always made that noise. Is it not supposed to?" Apparently not. Since it was still covered under AppleCare (thank you, Daddy!), they gave me a shiny new iPod. Which is awesome. Except that I have about 1300 fewer songs on my laptop than I had on the iPod. I was deleting stuff to save space, since it was all on the iPod. *facepalm*

Actually, it's likely more of it is on my dad's PC, and when I go out there, I'll sync it and see how that works out, but for tonight, I am going to load it up with music and see how it works. I am holding off on naming it, though. The last one I named Sammy and it was stubborn, contrary, and shut down a lot, leaving me bereft. I will have to think.

Now I am all mellow after all the adrenaline of that appointment (I can't tell you how annoyed i was that it just turned on when the guy reset it, when for the 24 hours before that, it showed no signs of life) and then walking a while until the bus and I arrived at a stop together, so I got on.

To recap, shiny new iPod, yay! Let's hope it works. And I may be asking for music in the next few days.
