The plan for today:

+ answer some comments
+ break 10K words on the harlequin if at all possible. luzdeestrellas, stop laughing. I'm at 8170 words, and Christ, there's still a bunch of story to get through, and some of it I don't even know what it's supposed to be, how to get from here to there in the best way. Sigh.

Hee. I have a tendency to do that when trying to explain to people why they should watch The Wire. It takes a good minute for me to just stop repeating "Omar Little." And then I move on to Lester and Kima and Stringer and ten minutes later I start actually talking about the plot or something.

Yes. And it's hard to talk about the plot because it's all, Well, it's about drugs and trying to catch drug dealers! No! It's about political corruption! No, it's about the school system! And at that point, people start to tune out because it sounds like work because it requires paying attention and thinking.

It's about the guy who is supposed to be the inspiration for Omar (except, apparently, the gay part) and the woman who was the inspiration for HBO's similar miniseries The Corner. They just got married!
