Okay, first of all, you are all FIRED! I just had to read in EW that George Clooney is going to be starring in White Jazz, which I'm guessing is an adaptation of James Ellroy's novel. George Clooney! Two of my favoritest things together! How did I not know of this before today?

Perhaps because, unless one has an omg!expensive subscription to Variety or The Hollywood Reporter, this is the first time the news has crept into general media outlets?

But now you know, and can book time accordingly for future fic writing.

Oh sure, use your crazy LOGIC, why don't you? Hmph.

Hee! I think writing fic for Ellroy's books is very hard. I did an LA Confidential story last year for remix and quickly abandoned plans to write in Ellroy's style, because I couldn't mimic it in any competent way.

Rock paper scissors! Best two out of three! That was wonderful! And Dean is such a geek. I heart him. Next week will be So cool! And yet I will probably miss the broadcast, because of a work function. Woe.

And I am just... sadly disappointed in both George and Izzie.

Obviously, our minds work alike.

You know where I swooned, "Oh, Dean"? It was that after Sam told him, "Always with the scissors," and he went and did it again anyway.

I KNOW!

SO AWESOME!

Because you can totally tell his thought pattern was, "Should I change it up now that he's caught on? Nah, he'll be expecting that, so scissors it is!"

I KNOW!!!!

Because you know it wasn't even Dean thinking, "well, he won't expect me to play scissors again now." No, it's just that Dean always does the scissors.

George and Izzie have been losing me with their attitudes and lost me completely when they woke up in bed together. I just ... I can let it slide and can in fact enjoy it in a wicked way when two characters who are generally bastards cheat, but when two characters who are for the most part good yet flawed people have sex (even drunken sex they don't remember getting into) that involves one or both of them cheating I hate it. It's a major breaking point for me in liking or hating characters.

I was willing to cut George some slack because of his father's death, like I cut Izzie a bit of slack after her descent into craziness over Denny, but right now I just want to strangle both of them.

It's such a HUGE betrayal, and I have such a huge adultery squick, that I can't let it go.

I have a feeling I will be removing my george/izzie icon from rotation very soon now.

I have one, too. It's why I loathe "The English Patient." Loathe it. There's nothing romantic about cheating on your spouse. Ugh.

I stopped watching GA at the end of last season, for various reasons, but I've kept up with tidbits through some people's LJs, and I can't believe this whole George/Izzie thing. Ugh. Wonder if the ratings will start to decline. Seems like the show is more about bedhopping than anything else.

Hmm... I loved "The English Patient," but for the present-day story, not the story about Count... whatever the hell his name was - the soldier and the nurse story was awesome. And it was also beautifully written.

I can't believe this whole George/Izzie thing.

Oh, it's awful. Especially since I totally had it in my head that after George's marriage didn't work out - that he and Callie both realized they'd rushed into it, and that it wasn't anyone's fault - that he and Izzie would get together, because best-friends-become-lovers is my favorite dynamic. But now I'm just disgusted.

Seems like the show is more about bedhopping than anything else.

Well, it's always had that soap opera element, but given the way Shonda handled McDreamy and Addison, I can't say I'm optimistic about how this will be handled in the future.

Although I *loved* Lorelai's reaction. Lauren Graham really sold that scene. "No. I did not raise you to be that girl. I did not raise you to be the girl who blames the wife for making her husband cheat on her."

*nod nod*

It was just the beginning of the end for me, and while I was okay with being meh about Rory while I still loved Luke and Lorelai (and Emily), once they turned Luke into a pod person, I just couldn't stand it.

It was just...marital infidelity is the *one thing* that I really *cannot* forgive in a character, ever--whether it's a book or a TV series. Murder? Yes. Other forms of dishonesty? Yes. Criminal activities? Why not. Hell, Angel was my favorite show and Angel my favorite character on that show! But this...I still think both Rory and Dean got off way too easy.

because it's such a breach of trust, I just. Like, I can accept criminal activities, but breaking such an important vow is immediately a deal-breaker for me.

I never liked Dean, even in Season 1--I don't know why. I didn't dislike him, but it was so ( ... )

With Dean and Rory, I didn't see any *curiosity* from Rory about Dean. Whereas right from the beginning, you can see she's totally intrigued by Jess.

*nod nod*

Rory liked Dean because Dean liked her. And she ran back to him after Jess because he still loved her and he was comfortable and he didn't challenge her at all.

And yeah, I hear you on Booth/Brennan. I really like their relationship dynamic now.

when I found out that the show's main couple was based on a man sleeping with a girl while married and not telling her he was married, and that both the show's producer and a large chunk of the fanbase still shipped them? I was so out of there.McDreamy is highly problematic - when his wife showed up, it was revealed that she had cheated on him first, and you would think that would have made me hate her, but she was genuinely apologetic about it and wanted to try to repair the damage she'd done, while he was just... grrr... But the showrunner has a huge blind spot where he is concerned. Luckily, Addison may be getting her own show, ( ... )

They're filming White Jazz? Seriously?

Huh. I am faily neutral on the Clooney, but I might just have to check that out.

(And also: WTF with the pregnant dreams. Does everyone have those?)

According to EW it starts filming soon. I did not go see "The Black Dahlia" because of the bad reviews, but Clooney + Ellroy gets a head start from me.

(And also: WTF with the pregnant dreams. Does everyone have those?)

Probably. They always freak me out though. and I always spend a good part of the dream buying baby furniture. I'm not sure what that's about.
