fic: Every Day a Little Death (Supernatural/Sandman; Dean/Death)

Mar 01, 2007 16:54

Apparently last week was WIP Amnesty Week or something? This is, well, nothing actually happens in it, I guess, so it's not much of a story, but I can't continue it without a lot of revamping, as this was written right after IMToD, and my original idea was jossed, so... I guess this can stand on its own ( Read more... )

I'm glad you posted this, because really, you can't go wrong with Death.

And I love this exchange:
"No, Del's as real as I am. And she really is my sister. It's--"

"Complicated?"

"No, not really. Just not pertinent to the discussion at the moment."

Thank you! And Death is awesome. She should show up in more stories. *G*

"No, but you were given them anyway. Which is why I'm here. Keeping an eye out. You're definitely one of mine, Dean Winchester. In ways you don't even realize yet."

Okay, I want to know what that means. And who is Del, because I'm clueless on the canon you took Death from?

Also, just loved this because Dean/Tessa had beautiful chemistry and I loved their conversations, though it some what disturbs I've so far loved Dean's chemistry with Death the best. LOL.

And while I'm asking questions just how did Kripke joss you?

Answer to the canon question:

Death and Del (Delirium) both come from Neil Gaiman's Endless, first seen in the Sandman series. If you've never read it, I would heartily recommend it.

Oh, Death and Delirium come from Neil Gaiman's Sandman, which you should TOTALLY read, because it is of the AWESOME.

And I'm glad you liked the story without knowing that canon, because yeah, Tessa is kind of modeled on Gaiman's Death anyway, and I liked her a lot.

And while I'm asking questions just how did Kripke joss you?

Dean's revelations in CSPWDT sort of took the wind out of my sails here, and it was just hard to rework it with his whole "dead things should stay dead" attitude.

Death AND Delirium!

Woo! Best non-Wincester siblings (well, all of them) ever.

Thank you! I *heart* the Endless so much!

Best non-Wincester siblings

Is that a typo? 'Cause that's an awesome typo. Considering I do ship Death/Dream. *g*

It is a typo! But a funny one.

I, err, occasionally mentally ship Delight/Original Despair.

By occasionally, I mean always, and keep wanting to write it as Delirium's origin story.

Oh, wow, that would be *awesome*.

You should TOTALLY write that.

Oddly enough, I can't ship Death with Dream v.Daniel, only with Morpheus. Hmm...

I'm going to cling to the hope that, during the summer drought, you'll decide to revamp and continue this. It's fun, and a little disturbing, and I really kinda love Dean/Tessa.

Heh. Thank you. I might try for something else with Death in, because I do love her and I think she and Dean would be fun together.

Also, I love your icon. There's just something so nnngggghh about the way he's sitting there...

Hmm. I like this. I can't really articulate why, but I do. Everything just feels right and I definitely got a sense of the reaper from the series here, except in a different form, again.

I like that Dean is repelled but attracted at the same time. And confused.

I'll have to think on this one. :)

Thank you so much! I'm so glad it worked for you - and yeah, the attraction/repulsion thing is interesting to play with in this case, because I think eh would be.
