[Don't mind the random banging sounds or the smoke coming from the kitchen. Bikevi just thought he'd make an attempt at chicken soup in bed for Lavi. The other Lavi had looked pretty under the weather yesterday and a little on the thin side (but that always seemed to be the case). And while the soup still looked salvageable, Lavi is pretty sure that the microwave was not meant to spark like that. Oops. Maybe he should have used the stovetop directions]
[Banging noises isn't anything new but the smoke...well, it's got him momentarily confused. He's not in the kitchen himself, is he? Facility had done a number on everyone the other week what with having no gravity at all. The weary redhead gets up out of bed and shuffles toward the kitchen he hadn't used aside from putting leftovers in the fridge.]
[It's going to smell like burnt wires and other electric fritzes when Lavi wanders in. Luckily, Bikevi has enough presence of mind to snatch the bowl away so it doesn't get contaminated by the acidic smell (or anything worse) as he tries to block Lavi from entering the kitchen. Chicken soup in bed. That was the end goal, after all. So nudging Lavi back in the direction of his room and his bed]
There's a party going on in there. You know, that Christmas party. The one that everyone's been talking about. The one that a group of students -- the handful who weren't going home for the holidays -- decided to throw when the campus was mostly-empty.
They've both been there since it started, joined in the festivities. Bobbing for apples (Lenalee politely refused) and poker (Allen won) followed by several rounds of hard cider which left Lenalee feeling like she needed a bit of air.
You didn't mind coming out here, did you, Lavi?
And so, here they are. Standing on a snowy sidewalk, with Lenalee's head tipped back to catch a snowflake on her tongue.]
I love that song~ ♥lazysmartassOctober 4 2011, 03:12:58 UTC
[He's glad for once that he let them talk him into staying on campus this time. Though Christmas morning he'll be driving up to visit his grandfather anyway.
So he had said his good-byes to everyone, planning on staying in a hotel tonight so they can have fun into early hours and he can leave without waking anyone.
It had gotten a bit warm in there though, so he hadn't minded saying he'd stand outside with Lenalee for a short while.
He grins and tugs his scarf closer.] Merry Christmas, Lenalee. Promise you'll open my present first tomorrow?
[Kanda. Oh Kaaaaaanda~ ♥ Lavi got you something. He knows he should have waited until it a special occasion like perhaps their month anniversary or maybe Christmas or something. But he just couldn't. Upon seeing this wonderful little pick me up, Lavi decided that Kanda needed this in his life ASAP]
[So here is Lavi, trying to hand the cat to Kanda and keep it from flying away at the same time]
[ Kanda knows that tone of voice well. it means Lavi is about to routinely rearrange his life again which, come to think of it, is probably why they're even in this. state of being. to begin with. a modest house with a well-tended garden, cobblestone front path and a lawn no one dares to heedlessly trample on except maybe Lavi. it's ridiculous and normal and nothing at all like what he'd ever expected for himself. on bad days, when the orb in his chest threatens to come apart with every breath, Kanda can almost admit to someone other than himself that he's more than okay with this.
today is not one of those days.
it's not even one of those other days circled in red on their calendar, when Lavi gets more ridiculous than usual and Kanda has to remind himself to blunt the edge of his words.
so.
after the customary frown and an instinctive step back-no, make that two, he's learned the hard way that some of Lavi's bad ideas bite-he crosses his arms and stares, making absolutely no effort to conceal what he thinks of this. this. ]...Is

[And don't forget the white picket fence. Lavi wouldn't dream of living in a house without one of those. A white picket fence and a porch swing so he could laze about while the sun went down (or up depending how godawful early Kanda wanted to wake up), waiting for Kanda to come back after training or tending to his garden so Lavi can motherhen him with tea and soba and make sure that the tattoo hasn't gotten any bigger. That was usually the time when Kanda could be at his sweetest (if Kanda Yuu could ever be called sweet)]
[Oh, but today Kanda had the looks of being an incurable grump. Incurable and more irritable than usual. Was Kanda's eye starting to twitch again?]
But he's lonely, yeah. And he doesn't have anyone to turn to. You wouldn't really condemn him to a life outside in the cold, would you?
[The cat swivels it head to look at Lavi, little furry gears in its mind turning. Perhaps with a little work, it could secure itself an endless supply of food, a roof over its head, and all the flowers that it could ever want to

She manages to catch a snowflake, and wraps her coat tighter around herself.]

Kanda, you can't eat soba for every meal for the next month. What would your sister say?

Aren't you just the cutest? [Petting a huskey puppy that's licking her hand.]
Lavi, what do you think of this one?

But do you want a dog that is going to outweigh you in a year or two?

I want a dog that can run beside me, remember? But we're shopping for you too, which means you get input in the puppy choice.
