We have four new babies! Amber gave birth this morning between the hours of 4 AM and 10 AM. I've moved Georgie and Cappuccino to another little house, but I've left Applique with Amber and Gress so that she gets the calcium she needs to heal properly.

The five little ones who have joined our family are just amazing. Four days old, and they've already almost doubled in size, being about an inch long now. Their skin is becoming pigmented, so that the skin on their backs and the tops of their heads looks darker. Amber didn't gain weight until... well, around Monday is when I noticed that she'd suddenly expanded a lot. But, since the gestation period for dwarf hamsters is about 16 days... and the babies are only about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch long...

Fourteen months! And I got my "anniversary chip" I ordered from my friend Michelle (the girl I mentioned before, who runs Treasure of the Earth) yesterday. It's *gorgeous*! I'll take a picture and post it later - I want to make sure I have really good light, so that the colors of the Java-blue mystic topaz really come alive.

I'm at work, and I overheard people talking about the joys and problems of traveling - specifically, Ashwin said that it was very strange getting on a plane, taking a six hour flight, and landing "three hours after he took off".
