Unravelling

Ack. I feel like I'm slowly unravelling as the weekend approaches, and brings with it the bliss, absolute bliss of three weeks of no work. No weekends slaving over any computer other than my own, no callouts at ungodly hours, no extra long shifts. And only 8 more hours at work to survive and then this paradise can be mine ( Read more... )

Soon, we shall be zipping along the highway, taking in some iconographic scenery and talking about everyone else.

Yay.

Yay indeed! I'm looking forward to it. I don't think I've ever needed a holiday quite so much.

We need to stop every so often while zipping along the highway so that I can take photos of the iconographic scenery of course. But we can still talk about everybody else while I'm doing it. ;-)

We will stop and take as many pictures as you like. Just so we get back to Albuquerque in time to make the flight back home. :-)

It's a plan. :-)

Besides, you know me. I'm quite as paranoid about getting to an airport on time as you could possibly desire.

Keeping my fingers crossed you won't get sick on your vacation. This time off sure is well earned after all the time you've been putting in on the weekends!

Thanks.

It turns out that I now have 10+ holiday days accrued due to all the extra hours nonsense, and my boss would appreciate it if I took at least some of them before the end of the year.

So I guess I'm in a good position to smile sweetly and say "let the guys do it this time" if any other working weekends pop up. :-)

I hope your flight doesn't get delayed or anything because of the hurricane tossing and turning off the coast of Texas. That would suck. Let's rap wood that everything goes smoothly. I hope you have lots of fun, and a relaxing time.

And as for BSG, the second season should be starting in the UK anytime, while here in the US (although we've seen the first half of Season 2) we're going to have to wait until January for the rest of the season! Gah! The UK will get the whole season in one big lump. I don't know how I'm going to last until January for this show. It's simply amazing. And I think Season 2 has been better than Season 1.

Alas, the latest rumour is that they're not going to start airing BSG season two over here until January, which means that we won't see the end episodes ahead of you. Bah humbug. It could be false information, but I'd have expected the show to start appearing in listings by now if it was going to start airing in September/October, so it's probably true. Bah. Oh well, my bandwidth can take it, and maybe it'll mean that we get commentary tracks on our DVDs of the season as well this time around.

Note: I'm currently considering passing on my UK DVDs and buying the US set instead, just for the extra extras. I've got it bad.

My flight ought to be okay, looking at the 5-day prediction path for Rita. I'm flying in via Chicago, which ought to give me maximum flexibility for diverting around the thing, but I imagine that flight delays due to bad weather are pretty much inevitable. I just hope that's the worst of it this time.

And squeee! You have a Cory icon!

And as soon as I figure out how the hell to use my Photoshop CS program, I'm going to make some *nice* icons instead of my current half-assed attempts! Hee, crossed-eyes Cory above, too!
