Hanging in there

Aug 22, 2005 17:53

10 minutes left and then I can go home. It can't come soon enough; I'm still suffering from the medication debacle, which means that not only do I now have permanent pins and needles in my hands, but the prickling sensation started up in my feet as well last night. And I've not had to deal with that in a long time. I'm kind of used to knowing that ( Read more... )

That, plus the fact that for various reasons - some RL, some fannish - I'm feeling rather depressed and stressed right now, meant that I quite predictably got zero sleep last night so I'm hanging on for dear life and doing rather less work on the stuff that involves actual thought and rather more on the routine background tasks today than I actually should be if I prioritised my work according to urgency.

Just keep saying to yourself, go west, young woman! And look forward to the end of September.

Oh I am, I am. Holiday. It's a nice big fat carrot dangling in the (now) not too distant future. Something to aspire to.

Except that I never did get around to dieting in preparation for it, darn it. I guess I'll just have to hope that the bike arrives on time and pedal furiously to see if I can get a bit of last-minute remedial toning in. ;-)

Need to be fit if I'm going to end up toting half a ton of silver jewellery around for most of the trip. I never did get any Ray Tracey stuff when we were in California, so I need to remedy that omission this year.

Tingly extremities are very definitely not good, but you get used to them after the first few years. I don't notice the problem at all during the day, just at night, which is why it's annoying that the side-effects from this other drug have clobbered the one that makes the tingling go away.

And I'll probably feel a lot better once I manage to get a decent night's sleep in again. Being overtired skews everything out of perspective, and just makes niggling little worries and stuff you're sad about seem a whole lot worse.

Yay for Fleur! It's very good to see her, and I hope that means that you're clawing back some of that elusive concentration again.

Wishing you luck on the delivery of the exercise bike (and everything else, of course!) Our UPS deliveries are iffy here. Because of the long driveway leading to our property that the UPS driver hates to negotiate, once in a while our deliveries end up at the door, but other times they've been 1) left beside my neighbor's shed, 2) left nearly hidden (from us, and with no delivery note anywhere to be found) in the bushes at the head of the driveway or 3) tossed over the fence from the house along the next driveway if the driver happened to have a delivery to make there. We've actually seen the packages in mid-flight ( ... )

Alas, I wish I could say that our postal service was any better than yours but quite the opposite would appear to be true. Every tale you tell has happened to me as well, plus I have the joy of a street name which is nearly identical to six other streets adjoining it so half my mail goes to "Grove" instead of "Gardens".

This is at least supposed to be a courier delivery. Not that that necessarily makes it require any less jumping through hoops, but at least it takes it out of the hands of the Royal Mail.

*hugs and crosses fingers as well* I hope you'll feel better soon. I can only imagine how extremely uncomfortable sensations like that are. And then constant... *shudder*

As for the delivery on friday. I'll cross my fingers for that too :)
