2 days later Orson was found in the backyard in really bad shape, which turned out to be from a blockage in his bladder, preventing him from urinating. He got rushed to an animal hospital and put a catheter in him to drain his bladder, and has been there for a week. His bladder is doing fine, but now the muscles he uses to pee are needing to be

my kitty and i went through very similar hard times last year. it is so painful to watch a best friend be in pain and not understand how to help.
i loved my kitty very much and your little orson story breaks my heart.
i hope that he gets all better.
i don't know if the kitty is sick with urinary crystals....if the holistic vet down here is rather sure that it is diet related and can be helped. the mud bay granary in oly is probably a good place to find the food that could be better.....plus those people are probably familiar with the issues and may be able to give advice.
i am very sorry that little orson is sick and i am sad for you too friend.
