I thought that they were trying to come up with reasons why we shouldn't vote for ObamaSeriously, perhaps socialism is just what we need right now. We've seen for the past eight years (and really for almost the past 30, since Reagan and "trickle down" economics) what the other extreme leads to, perhaps we need to try this one out for a while. I

You might get a kick out of this. I certainly did. It's an analysis of just how much Joe the Plumber would save under McCain's fiscal policies.

...Obama would increase taxes on the plumbing business by $900/year (if the business is making an annual profit of $280,000). McCain would let the business keep that $900/year, but he would take away more than $9,000 in tax savings that the business gets by deducting health insurance premiums.

It disgusts me how the Republicans do stuff like this. Back in the '90s we had a governor here in Jersey who did something similar, cutting state income taxes by slashing funding to municipalities that were then forced to raise everybody's property taxes. Needless to say nobody likes her much. You'd think that people would learn that when the Republicans say they're going to decrease taxes all they mean is that they're going to shift them around to fool you into thinking that they're lower.
