For the second day in a row, I am contemplating sewing. I am enjoying this fresh start more and more as the days get longer and longer. I don't think I would have survived if I'd stayed in Manhattan, as much as I miss some things about it. When I'm wearing flannel pjs and a sweater and wool socks and slippers and I'm still cold it is time to turn on the heat for a few minutes. This weekend was excellent. Saturday we had a party with the people we game with, I played my scorpion deck against M's crab deck. A couple of friends got married over the weekend (meaning that they share my first wedding date), and a good chunk of the crew went to KC for the release event. I'm off work for the next couple of days, or maybe until I get a new job. The grant that's paying me did not get filed with the office of institutional research (or something like that). The new campaign is quite fun so far. I like being first level, which is about like real life where everything is difficult and you get your butt handed to you most of the time. So it forces you to plan and think instead of relying on huge attack bonuses and massive numbers of hit points ( Read more... )

There was a big storm last night. Our house is fine. From what I can tell, the neighbourhood is fine, too. I think there might have been a very small and very short lived tornado about 100 feet from our house. Why? Well, the neighbor lady said she heard a train.
