So I just got to NYC on Thursday. Bryan came with me to hang out for the weekend. And my workshop at Lincoln Center starts tomorrow. Elia Kazan, who directed On The Waterfront and A Streetcar Named Desire, was also a huge theater director in NY during the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Of course, he also named names to the UnAmerican Activities Committee during the Joseph McCarthy years, putting a lot of actors, designers, and directors out of work for most of the 50s. So he's pretty much a scumbag. In my opinion. But he did great work, especially in On The Waterfront.
