A Taste of Hawaii

One of my favorite memories from our honeymoon was our hike to Hanakapi'ai Falls in Kauai. We jokingly refer to it as the "Honey-can-I-pee Falls" because A~ must have stopped half a dozen times along the about 8-mile hike (round trip) to surreptitiously relieve himself out of view of other hikers. I really can't believe I let him convince me to ( Read more... )

Aw. How long were you there for?

When we were there, we went and had this soup called sai min, which is this Hawaiian ramen noodle soup. Everyone told us to get it with Spam. I'm like, ok, I'll do that, thinking it was going to be crispy fried Spam or something as a topper. Oh no. They were sticks of Spam straight from the can. ICK ICK ICK!

wow, check out all these new icons! lol. really pretty pics of hawaii :) but YUCK. spam. *blech blech* I had to eat that one time when I was little because my cousin wanted it and she was staying with us for a month. the lil tyke (at the time) wouldn't eat it after we cut it for her. WTF. lol. that thing is so freakn salty!

sometimes, I wish I ate red meat so I could enjoy lots of dishes, but that's only sometimes :)

Yeppers, I decided that I needed some more munkiness. Spam is not the best food out there I'll admit, but spam musubi is good! I promise! And the saltiness is cut by the vinegared rice and seaweed.

By the way, Spam isn't really meat so you might be able to get away with it... ;)

Steve and I are thinking about going to Hawaii for our honeymoon but we haven't decided yet.

I haven't had Spam Musubi in over 2 years!

Everyone goes to Hawaii for their honeymoon - and for good reason! It is so breathtaking. We are going again in May for my sister-in-law's wedding on Kauai. I think we are going to spend some time in Honolulu as well. For some reason, my sis-in-law, who lives in LA, is going to honeymoon...in Europe! How crazy is that?!?!
