Kabbalah teaches that we have three souls, not just one.  The body is clothes for these souls, containing them, but dead without them; like clothes laying on the floor won't move, the body can't live without the souls, but they can live (at least for a time) without it.  These are the Nefesh, the Rauch, and the Neshimah.  There are also two higher ( Read more... )
