a little bit sideways | found poetry (charlie sheen)

Feb 28, 2011 19:06

So...this is my first attempt at Found Poetry, but there's something so lyrical and tempting about all of Charlie Sheen's recent interviews. Other than adding/removing various forms of punctuation, and rearranging/mixing lines, this is all from Sheen's various interviews in the last week or so, as well as his letter.

(For the record, whether it ends up being drugs, alcohol, or a manic episode as some people think, I do hope he gets the help that he clearly needs.)

a little bit sideways

My motto
now
is you either love or you hate
and you must do so violently.

I’ve got a different brain.
I’ve got a different heart.
I’ve got tiger blood, man.

Passion?
I think my
passion
is misinterpreted as anger
       (sometimes)

I don’t think people are
ready
for the message I’m delivering

&

delivering with a sense of
violent love.

You have to hate everyone who is not in your
       family
because they are there
to destroy your family

&
let me
just say this
about the goddesses:
I don’t believe the term is good enough
but when you’re bound by these
       terrestrial descriptions,
you must use the best choice available,
       right?

what we all have is a marriage of the heart

with zeal,
focus and
violent hatred.

You love or hate,
you live in the middle,
you get nothing
       (As a retired gambler
I need better odds than that)

I don’t live in the middle anymore.
That’s where you get slaughtered.
That’s where you get embarrassed in front of the
       prom queen.

They don't know me.
I'm rolling out magic bro
and I must
save it for
       my family.

I woke up
Wrap both arms around it
and
love it
       violently
And defend it
       violently
through violent hatred

Defeat is not an option

We are at war

We
are
high priest
Vatican assassin warlocks.
      Boom!
      Print that,
      people!

Just change the way you see things,
change the way you feel

(here nobody panics
       and
      nobody dies)

I believe chivalry is not
       dead,
it’s just been in a coma
for a
      long time

Sorry man,
didn't make the rules

Don’t recall getting a vote on this.
They warrant an explanation?
It’s going to cost them a lot more
because they’re on a battlefield

They can worry all they want
That’s for amateurs

I’m battle tested, man.
They’re trying to destroy my family.
Defeat is not an option.
They picked a fight with a
       warlock.

I got magic
and I got poetry
at my fingertips

(wasn’t even trying, wasn’t even warm)

I know my own truth
And that’s what I stand on right now

I closed my eyes and
made it so with the power of my
      mind
Had to unload twenty-two years of
fiction
and just decided
I don’t believe it
      anymore

Well, you’ve been warned
They’re going to lose
I have no interest in their
      opinions.
They can just find the most comfortable chair
in their small house
and sit back and enjoy the show

I’ve spent
      (I think)
close to the last decade
effortlessly and
magically converting your tin can into
pure gold

I’m a man of my word

It was my show that kept the
lights on.

Consider the source
(Everybody takes their word over mine?)

If this is
      (in fact)
your handbook for living...
      (It’s a silly book
      written by a broken down
      fool)

Accept me, Chuck

(They think it’s a one size fits all
but it didn’t fit
       me)

I'm giving them what they want
It’s unlike anything you’ll ever see

Get
out of my
face
with your
corduroys

I’m not Thomas Jefferson
      (he was a pussy)
      I’m not that guy.

Fools, trolls, weak, defeated
They allowed defeat to be an option

I’m sorry if I offended you,
I didn’t realize you were so
      sensitive
      (That's me being polite)

You can’t focus on things that matter
if all you’ve been is
asleep for forty years.
      (Funny how sleep rhymes with
      sheep.)

So, bring me a challenge somebody
I dare anyone to debate me on things
(never once, never once)

It’s how you perceive it

It’s not really rocket science
I’m passionate
I’m a man of my word
I’m an F-18
Deploying my ordinance to the ground

I have defeated this earthworm
with my words
      (imagine what I would've done
       with my fire breathing fists)

I wish him
nothing but pain

the gibberish of fools

Drug tests don’t lie,
score board doesn’t lie
I cured it with my brain,
with my mind.
I’m cured, I’m done.

I will not believe that if I do something
then I have to follow a certain
      path

It was written for normal people,
people that aren’t special,
people who don't have
      tiger blood
      &
      Adonis DNA.

Walk with me side-by-side
as we march up the steps of justice
to right this unconscionable wrong

Remember
these are my people
      (not yours)
We will continue on together

(I'm tired,
      I'm so tired)

You get ready,
We’ll get ready.

And I got ready.

(I've always had a plan
       always executed it perfectly)

I went back.

Nobody’s there.

AN: Yeah, so that went to a much more depressing place than I'd originally intended it to.
