Very nice indeed. You have handled the foreshadowing with skill and delicacy. The mood is established adroitly. I enjoyed this very much.

I'm glad you enjoyed! Not much happens, but I suppose I like writing ficlets in which not much happens.

Eeeeeee omg Belgemine being awesome. This is so shiny. :D :D

(small nitpick: you say Braska is not most 'guardians' - I think you meant 'summoners'?)

Also I love the idea of Belgemine having challenged Braska as well. :D

Yay, I am glad it is shiny!

& haha, thanks for the nitpick! That's exactly the sort of thing I miss ALL THE TIME. :)

I'd be more descriptive, but I've run out of words to express my love for your awesomeness. ;)

Wonderful vignette with an NPC fanfic tends to overlook. You've captured Belgemine's amused, motherly, mysterious understanding and fondness very well.

I see traces of young!Auron's brashness in the surliness of this one, a subtle stroke that's hard to lay down correctly.

And of course she's right. I hadn't thought about Auron's stubborn goal in terms of faith, but that's exactly right, of course. It's why there are two kinds of hope defined in Tolkien's spoken Elvish -- amdír, looking ahead and anticipating the future based on reasonable extrapolation of present conditions (on which Denethor operated in the books), and estel, translated "hope" AND "faith," an irrational conviction, a fool's hope, which is all that Auron had left.

I can't see any nitpicks.

I'm glad you liked her. I dug through your FFX script to get her voice right --no, self, she doesn't really use formal titles and yes, it's probably okay to make her a little playful.

Oh wow, there's a combination of characters I would never have thought of! I love the foreshadowing and Belgemine being cryptic and mischievious at the same time and the "Braska was not most summoners" / "Jecht is not most Sins" thing and the conversation about faith because. Because. *flails*

I've been meaning to comment on this since you posted, so I'm sorry I haven't said more!

Yay, flailing! Yeah, I was surprised how fun they were together.

I'm happy you liked it. :D
