The same thought had occurred to me. In fact, not thinking is probably they very reason why someone pursued these pranks. Lord knows, not thinking of all the consequences has certainly caused much of the strife in recorded history.
Nice choice in music, by the way; Holst is underrated far too frequently.
Perhaps because so many others have borrowed from his work--intentionally or unintentionally? The CD I have also has John Williams' Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Star Wars themes on it, and it's rather obvious that there is a similarity between a phrase at the end of the latter theme and one from "Mars". I've noticed a few other film composers seem to have done the same. Just more proof that there is very little that is truly new under the sun. :-)
I'm partial to "Mars" and "Jupiter"--the latter mainly because that middle familiar phrase was drummed into me during youth, through "I Vow To Thee, My Country", a tune I always liked.
Thank you for your support and kind words, Eve. Last night was not something I would wish to repeat. As for having nerves of steel, that is high praise indeed. A true Gryffindor will never run from adversity.
Needless to say, I cannot wait to see Prof. Snape give that Grisling woman a good trouncing this weekend. It should provide something of a catharsis for all the professors.
I quite agree. I believe that Saturday will be most enjoyable for those of us here at Hogwarts.
