Un/necessary purchase

I just spent money on something that I already have. Technically I do not need to spend this money, nor do I need a new Blu-Ray player, because I have one already. But I bought a new one anyway, to exorcise some juju

Hmm, it would be nice to get a little money for it. I've never tried selling anything on Ebay or Craigslist, but I really should. I have a lot of nice stuff that is unused and just taking up space! Seems like a lot of work though...

Oh man, I totally understand; I can't keep stuff ex's give me. I have a few sentimental trinkets (figurines, jewelry, letters) packed away in a box somewhere, but items I use everyday have to go!

On the flip side, sometimes I wonder if using something every day takes away its power...like it becomes something that you don't even give a second thought about and forget that your ex ever gave it to you? Eh, that's not entirely true...I'm not ever going to forget that my iPhone case, which I see every day, is from my ex. But it doesn't bother me half as much as the Blu-Ray player for some reason, and I'm not thinking Omigod this is from AG every time I pick up my phone. Gotta do whatever it takes to find peace, I suppose...it's interesting how that varies not only from person to person, but from object to object!
