I'd prefer not to see naked people unexpectedly.

Naked people don't really bother me, I prefer to stay clothed myself, but other people's nudity doesn't bother me one way or the other, mind you my family wandered around naked my entire childhood so I never thought anything of it.

As a family we wander around naked too. Doesn't everyone in their own home? But strangers are different. I don't want to see Joe Blogs or the mailman naked. It's too intimate for my taste.

Well, no, everyone does not. My family certainly didn't after I hit about age 4 or 5.

But I don't _want_ to see naked people. We live in a clothed culture. By all means emigrate somewhere where nakedness is normal everywhere, but I like the social distance that clothes provide.

I don't _want_ to see people in ugly clothes. I don't _want_ to hear rap "music". I don't _want_ to smell cigarette smoke. Unfortunately, I just have to harden up. _You_ may feel that we are a clothed culture, but it's not exactly that simple. Or maybe you haven't been to Golden Bay?

I have never been to Golden Bay.

I might not want to see nudity all the time, but I'm very uncomfortable with the idea that nudity itself should be in some way criminal.

What if someone worked with you and they were naked? Assuming your work didn't have a dress code. How about someone naked on the bus, perhaps sitting next to you or standing in front of you? How about being the one clothed woman in a lift with a couple of naked men?

I am just not comfortable with that. I don't want people in prison or even fined, but I do want someone to make them go and get dressed.

Well, as of right this minute, all those nude people you describe could be doing those same activities wearing only g-strings, and yet, they don't seem to be. And I don't think those g-strings would make me a heck of a lot _more_ comfortable than I would be if they were naked.

On the other hand, do you think I might be able to trade a smelly mutterer on the bus for a clean, sane, naked person?

How about a naked smelly mutterer?

I do feel uncomfortable with public nudity due to several decades of cultural indoctrination however I suspect that this may be one of those points on which my culture isn't actually right.

In purely objective terms I can't see any problem with nudity provided the naked person is protected from the sun, not engaging in athletic pursuits requiring support (well, at least, I know nude jogging would HURT me), following hygiene with regard to shared seats etc and not displaying inappropriate sexual behaviour. Subjectively it may bug me a whole lot but I can't see that it's possible that any harm could come of it.
