First things first: I'm so not worthy of the ridiculously wonderful feedback everyone gave me on my last art post; I'm so excited that the arts were so well received! Since I've realized that I only get a chance to get on the internet on the weekend, it's gonna be virtually impossible to thank everyone individually, but until I get a chance to ( Read more... )

Oh, my God. That story... I can only pray to write like that someday. As my sister told me when she finished it, it's one of those few modern novels that have all the elements of truly great literature. I still get choked up thinking about it.

I must have died (figurately) about sixteen times while reading it. My heart just broke over and over, and then it couldn't get any worse but then it did, and then things would get a little better but NO down it goes again... and Hassan... and when Rahim told Amir about what happened... *chokes up* and the ending, that bittersweet mix of hardship and hope... GAH. Easily one of the best five books I have ever or will ever read.

I know it can't be helped, but I miss very much seeing you in LJland. Congrats on your new grown-up abode!

Oh, I miss you too, Shannon. You will have to tell me when you have a spare afternoon or evening to chat on the phone because there is a significant gap in my life since excess work/stuff took over and snuffed out my LJ time.

I must traipse to your LJ and catch up.

I read Eat, Pray, Love and it more or less changed my life.

The Kite Runner is next on my list, and I'm right in the middle of Three Cups of Tea, which is wonderful so far.

Books = love.

Glad to hear things are going well for you! ♥

Ooh, I've been told that Three Cups of Tea is wonderful. That's next on my list.

As for Eat, Pray, Love, wasn't that just beautiful? It really inspired me to recalibrate my spirit this spring, and I've been recommending it to anyone who'll listen. One day we'll have to gush chat about it. :)

It's so good to hear from you as well! Once I've gotten through some replies here, I really have to get onto the flist and see how you're doing!

YES! I'm flying in on April 23rd, I think. I'll have to put up the Itinerary as soon as I've got it because there are spots in different areas that we're going to hit all the way up into Scotland. I really hope I can meet you! :)

You're so sweet to offer a place to stay - now that I'm thinking of it, there's one night (April 23) before the tour starts that I have yet to find a hotel room for....

OMG.
