Who: Hakkai, Mai, and Gray What: Drinking... no surprise there Where: the pub When: shortly after Fuji's disappearance Rating: PG-PG-13 for drunken stupidity
Mai was glad to have something to do, especially with a friend; she had been a little shut up herself as of late for various reasons. They weren't serious, just things that had been bothering her along with some homesicknessness, but she was fine.
She reached the pub quickly enough, spotting Hakkai right away and smiling at him before making her way to the bar to get a drink. Receiving her mixed drink, she went back to the table and sat down across from Hakkai. "Hey hon."
Hakkai gave her a warm smile right away. "Mai." Somehow he'd managed to keep a bit of beer in his glass, though it had been a close call. There was only about two sips left... which Hakkai swallowed in one go before lifting his arm to indicate that he needed another. "You've been well, I hope."
"Well enough, hon." She answered with a smile, then looked a bit more serious. "How are you doing?" She was sad when Miranda went home, so she had an idea how Hakkai might be feeling.
Again he gave her another smile. His typical one. The mask that hid everything he was feeling. The mask that very few people could actually see through. "I'm alright. I didn't know him all that well anyways." Which was true. He and Fuji rarely spoke about themselves. Hakkai polished off half of his drink in one long swig. He stared at it, realizing how this must look, and gave Mai another smile. "I'm really not a fan of beer... but this is wonderful."
The door out side the in was pushed in by a girl who was weary of her predicaments. Shion was in one of her worse moods due to being homesick. She had to get out of her room ,because the last thing she needed to do was take it out on her roommate. Sitting down at the other side of Mai she opened her mouth to give an order to the bartender, but then stopped half way. She didn't know what age she had to be to order wine. She was used to drinking it where she lived, because nobody cared before in Hinamizawa/Okinomiya. Here she had couldn't pretend to be her sister. Not to mention even if her sister was here she wouldn't have any status. She then looked across the bar to see doctor she met earlier. "Sorry to bother you, but do you know how old you have to be to get a glass of wine here?"
Hakkai gave the new girl a small smile. "Any age you'd like. They have no way to check here, so it doesn't really matter." At least he didn't think it did. Of course if Conan decided to try and get alcohol someone might stop him... if they didn't know how old he really was.
Mai smiled a bit at the girl as well, shaking her head a bit. "Not sure, hon; the staff's... Not all there with it, so they may not ask. I know Atem was able to get some wine, and he was underage." She shrugged a bit. "If they won't get you some, I'll buy you a glass." Mai didn't think there was any reason a girl Shion's age shouldn't drink as long as it was within reason and around other people.
"Thanks...My name is Shion." The girl greeted with a small smile. She then turned to the bartender and ordered a glass of Merlot. When she received it she took a small sip. As the burning beverage fell down her throat, the blood rushed to her cheeks as she scratched her neck. Putting the glass down she then looked over at the doctor. "I am sorry we had to meet at under strange circumstances before. We are all lucky to have a doctor who doesn't look like a zombie."
She then received another glass of water and handed it over to Gray. "You need some of this..."She said before turning her attention back to her own newly refilled glass of water. She had toyed with the idea of getting him a Virgin Pina Colada, but decided that it would just enable him instead of solving anything.
"Be a good boy now and drink your water," Hakkai told Gray as he sat back down, placing the empty glass that had held Gray's drink on the table. "You're going to regret it in the morning if you don't." If fact, he might regret it anyways, but that was okay.
Gray pouted down at the glass he was given. He didn't want water. He wanted his pina colada back! Gray crossed his arms over his chest and looked away. "Don't wann'it."
