When the past comes back to haunt you...

Everyone had told Tsuzuki that the library was really cool and that he needed to check it out, but he’d been avoiding it.  After all, Tsuzuki didn’t have a lot of luck with libraries.  He had blown up two already and was still paying back the debt for them.  He’d reasoned it out, however, that he would be okay this time.  There was no Muraki here ( Read more... )

"Frau. Frau." Bastien’s words roused Frau from his nap on the grass. The bishop scowled up at the ghost that was haunting him. “What do you want? You just as annoying in death as you were in life.” Bastien gave Frau a small smile. “I’m here to guide you, as always.” Frau snorted indignantly. “Yea, yea. You better have a good reason for waking me.” Bastien simply lifted his arm and pointed towards Tsuzuki.

Forcing himself up on his elbows, Frau glanced towards the man Bastien was pointing towards. He too had a ghost near him. However, it seemed that they weren’t on as good of terms as he and Bastien were. Frau watched as Tsuzuki dropped to his knees in obvious agony. What the hell was going on over there?

It wasn’t Muraki. Or at least, not the Muraki Tsuzuki had been thinking about. It was Dr. Muraki senior, the man who had looked after him for the last eight years of his life. The man who had studied him as a being who could survive for eight years without food, water, or sleep. The man who’d watched as he continually tried to kill himself, and failed.

“NOOOOOOO!” Tsuzuki screamed as he clung to his head in horror. Everything was flooding back to him again. Muraki senior laughed lightly and reached out to place a transparent hand on Tsuzuki’s shoulder. ”Now now, Tsuzuki. Come, rest and I’ll look after you.”No. Tsuzuki wasn’t going to let this man once more dictate his death. Not again. This time would be different. This time he would take Muraki with him! Power roared around Tsuzuki; a visible power that turned to flames. “Touda!” A huge black serpent flew over them, circling Tsuzuki and Muraki. The flames swept into an inferno of black smoke and red hot fire in seconds. The only thing capable of destroying a ( ... )

Frau’s jaw dropped. “You can’t be serious.” A fireball. A freaking atomic fireball. “Frau.” Frau looked up. “What? Don’t look at me like that. Why should I help him? He wants to die.” Bastien frowned. “Because that is what you do, Frau.” Frau shot him a look. He was right of course. That’s what Frau did every night at home, save people from Kor. This wasn’t that different. He was obliged, in a way, to help Tsuzuki ( ... )

"You have GOT to be joking." Bakura stopped in his tracks before reaching the inferno surrounding the library. Well... He supposed finding any interesting reading material would be out of the question at the moment.

"What is going on here?! Could someone be trapped inside?!" Another voice echoed worriedly from around Bakura as a slightly transparent being became visible next to him. It was a man clad completely in white and gold, clothing which contrasted greatly with his dark skin. The thief shot a glare towards him, crossing his arms irately. Mahaado... The priest of Atem's court whom Bakura had killed in his days as a thief. Out of all the possible spirits, he just HAD to end up with this one, didn't he?!

"Be quiet, you annoying priest. I really could care less if any of the idiots from this place was injured... The fewer the better." He snapped, pointedly ignoring the look the specter gave him. Bakura's eyes had already caught sight of Zehel and Tsuzuki, and he took a few steps nearer them, curious.

Atem nodded to Yozak, agreeing with Linali's words. When they parted ways, he directed the way to Tsuzuki's dorm, kicking the door open a little so they could enter and put Tsuzuki on his bed.

"Tsuzuki?" He asked, trying again to see if he would wake up this time. He really was a bit worried.

Tsuzuki vaguely heard Atem's words. Someone was carrying him... and not doing a very good job of it either. He was tired, really really tired, and parts of his body hurt. He couldn't remember what had happened.

His back came into contact with the bed and he groaned softly. It felt really good, really solid. Perhaps everything was going to be alright after all. Maybe, but he doubted it.

Linali sat on the edge of the bed, gently brushing Tsuzuki's hair out of his face, worried sick about him. "Tsuzuki, can you hear me?" She looked up at Atem. "Would you get a damp cloth please?" she asked tersely, her face full of concern. She grabbed Tsuzuki's hand, still stroking his hair.

Atem stood nearby, frowning and with his arms folded over his chest. He had little experience in taking care of people who were unwell; his priests had been quite capable of taking care of themselves and all had been quite stubborn about doing so. His friends in Japan had also been very independant about that sort of thing.

So he was a bit relieved when Linali gave him something to do to help, immediately going to fetch the requested item before returning and handing it to her. "Here."

Yozak looked down at Frau, taking the steps to the 300s two at a time. "It's nothing, you feeling any better?" His voice was concerned again. Since this ornery man was so pliable in his arms now, he figured he must feel horrible. "It's Frau, right?" Yozak remembered the smaller man addressing him by name earlier.

"Yes, it's Frau," Frau mumbled weakly. "And no, I'm not alright." The words slurred together a bit because of Frau's raging fever. He still felt rather sick to his stomach, and his head was pretty close to exploding. "Frau..." Bastien said, his voice dripping with worry.

Frau had to wonder, vaguely, how this "Yosak" was able to carry him. Sure, he was thin and therefore probably light, but he wasn't exactly on the short side. "Dammit all to every damn hell there is..." Frau murmured.

Yozak took the last set of stairs one at a time so he wouldn't move Frau as much. He could feel the man's raging fever against his arm, biting his lip in slight worry.

"That's a lovely thought," Yozak laughed quietly when he heard Frau's murmur. Yozak looked down the hall, spotting the room "301" immediately since it was the closest. Without hesitation, or worry about the 'Kaiba' the short one had mentioned, Yozak walked right up and gave the door a few swift kicks. His hands were preoccupied after all, though the kicks sounded like he was about to break the door down. "Hello~? Anyone home?"

A bit of annoyed grumbling (and cursing) could be heard from the room's interior, followed by some shuffling and stomping feet. The door then opened and Kaiba appeared, brushing his bangs out of his narrowed blue eyes. He spotted Yozak first, obviously surprised to see someone taller than him for once. Well THAT was a change of pace.

...And then he noticed Frau, instantly arching an eyebrow in what seemed to be a mixture of disgust and amusement.

"...What do you want?"
