On Aging

Apr 26, 2012 20:12

The thing that I get annoyed with about being in my 40s is that I'm no longer able to spring right up after sitting cross legged on the floor (or lying down on the floor for that matter).  I have to shake my limbs to get feeling back in them, and then get up.

I was talking with some friends the other day when conversation turned to aches and pains ( Read more... )

I'm sending you warm thoughts to soothe your aching knees. (And of course...you can just not sit on the floor ever again. Problem solved. :D)

If your warm thoughts are like a hot pack, that'd be great! ;-)

I am one of those gloriously lucky (and by lucky I mean UNlucky) people who never outgrew the Osgood Schlotters knee thing. It's not terribly achy, but it does make keeping one's knees bent for any length of time an unhappy event.

Yeah, I can imagine that's going to be an issue trying to get down on the floor to play with a certain grandkid....

I am currently suffering the effects of plantar fasciitis, but I know it's not from being athletic when I was younger (because I wasn't). I think it's more from being old and shall we say, not thin.

I have started to let my hair grow out in its natural color, which means it is now getting rather gray. A young man offered me his seat on the metro the other day. I like to think he was just well brought up, but I fear he looked at me and saw "elderly."

Nah, once your hair grows out well enough, it won't be that much of an issue.

yeah, aging. It's got problems. My knees have met concrete so many times, they are past the dating stage. My right leg has decided in the last month it's had enough and wants no more work.

Yeah, by the time you've figured everything out, your body decides that it's time you needed a replacement.
