I hate Planeswalkers. I've been playing Magic since the day Arabian Nights came out, and always loved the game... up until they came out with Planewalkers which completely broken and ruined the game

I'm not a huge fan of the Planesalkers because I feel that I'm supposed to be the Planeswalker controlling everything that's going on lol but I don't think Planeswalkers ruined the game so much as just the Mythic Rare in general. I used to be able to spend about $100 every time a set came out for a booster box and from that get/trade for everything I needed to play Standard. Now that's impossible and Standard costs WAY more than it should in my opinion. I've completely given up on non-Eternal formats in recent years because of this and unfortunately for me Legacy has been going downhill since the Mystical Tutor ban so I'm just an old-fogey player right now who's mostly retired. Very sad since I have been playing since 1996 :(
I wasn't real thrilled about Planeswalkers, but I didn't think they were broken. I was unhappy about how the game changed over the years. After a while... if your deck wasn't set up to win by the sixth turn, you might as well have packed it in. If you didn't keep up with the latest broken combos... If you didn't have the latest set... I could go on.
Planeswalkers are...still a dumb concept, but their implementation is the real problem. See: Jace. For ruining, see duel sided cards (wtf) or mythic rares. The Mythic Rares especially, because come on assholes, was your cardboard crack not pricey enough before? Was that REALLY necessary? No, it was not...
I just spend $$ on limited and, ya, just lost round 1 to turn 3 Ahiok in game 1 and turn 5 Ashiok game 2. His +2 mills 3 cards and he is so powerful. I hate how I feel so completely helpless when this happens. I had a really sweet deck.
I have been playing magic since the game came out in 1993 and agree that planeswalkers ruined it for me.
