Because I know all of you read my journal for updates on the state of my fashion-forward wardrobe, this was going to be a post about the untimely demise of my favourite pants. annie potts is the best thing in that movie. if i'd been her, i'd have slapped andy until she bled for what she did to that cute dress.

james spader is awesome, but his hair is just. bad.

sorry about the pants. now you can go pantless.

I too re-watched Pretty In Pink several years ago and found my Andrew McCarthy crush to be thoroughly shattered but was still not terribly into Duckie. James Spader, though? Slurrrrrrp. Dirty weekend in Brighton indeed.

A solution: re-watch Some Kind of Wonderful. Exact same movie, more or less, except that Our Protagonist (Eric Stoltz, feathered hair) does indeed wind up with the Quirky Friend (Mary Stuart Masterson, adorable tomboy).

Sorry to hear about the pants. You have my sympathies.
