"What's the matter? Doesn't Jon Stewart's teet come with an extension cord?"

:: I haven't posted in the past couple of days simply because my mind had exploded from the excessive awesomeness brought to us by Wednesday's TCR episode. Stephen's guest was none other that his former 'Daily Show' colleague and friend from Chicago's legendary Second City, Steve Carell! I love how they've been good friends and coworkers for so Read more... )

Oh WOW it did delete a lot! Also, your Jon Stewart icon made me LOL like no tomorrow.

Suck it, Leno, indeed.

It's not the first time LJ's done something like that...I had to sit and re-write the whole thing! O_o Don't know what happens and it does that. Real pain.

That had to be one of the best Moments of Zen ever! Nothing better than three shirtless funnymen! LOL

Leno tried to joke about the fact that he wasn't nominated, but as usual his jokes FAILED.

So true!

Don't remember which one I used, but glad you liked it! It was probably a Jon or Stephen one, which means 100x100 adorableness!

First of all: Steve and Stephen!!!!!! :D :D :D

I'm really sorry to hear about both Steve and Alec Baldwin leaving their shows. I mean...The Office without Michael Scott and 30 Rock without Jack Donaghy? idk.

Glad to hear about all those Emmy nominations, though!!

I've already talked about and thought about TDS being sexist...I think it's bullshit, frankly. As for 30 Rock being racist...I think it's subversively racist. You know what I mean? Like, the jokes make you think about how stupid racism is. At least, that's the way I see it.

I have watched that interview so many times, I have now lost count! Every single line was pure gold!

It is a shame. They're what hold the shows together and keep a balance. I really can't imagine the shows without them...No crazy Michael Scott?! No 'womanizer' Jack Donaghy?! :(

I think '30 Rock' just points out some obvious stereotypes used by the media. The first one that comes to mind is Michael Steele. He is a politician -yes, African American- but acts like a stereotype. He uses words like 'bling bling' and invites people to his crib. So I think when '30 Rock' uses stuff like that on the show, it's to mock the media and politics. Dunno.

That's what I think, yeah. And I love both of their characters!! I knooow, they're just so central to the narrative!

Yeah, I think you're right. And Michael Steele totally does act like a stereotype...and I get the odd feeling that someone told him he should act that way, you know? Blech.

Michael Steele is definitely set up. Republicans have an idea about what African Americans sound like and that's what they try to project. Of course they live so much in their own white, bourgeois little world that they can't understand that that's not the case...
