Charity binge
One of my favorite things about the chagim and the end of the tax year is that I get to give away money! As someone on JewSchool recently pointed out, I'm required to give away 10% of my income, so it's not really my money anyway.

Israeli Bus Drivers
The most amazing people in Israeli society, in my opinion, are bus drivers. Not just because they drive buses (and often double-long buses) through Israeli traffic, which I find so terrifying that I wouldn't drive there even if someone gave me a car...but because of everything else they do at the same time. Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day) (April 22-23)
The nice thing about waiting for Pardes to end before posting to livejournal is that now I have a lot of free time. I want to travel around Israel, but this week I want to hang out with my friends before they all leave the country.

ימי ימים
One of my teachers called this period in Israel the ימי ימים (yomei yamim), or days of days, because there are so many minor holidays in the month after Passover. First was Yom Hashoah, Holocaust rememberance day. I love this country
Passover is a Jewish holiday during which Jews are not allowed to eat or even to own any bread product. Which means that we spend the preceding week obsessively cleaning to make sure we don't have a stray crumb in our houses. It also means that pizza cravings are running high the next two nights until it becomes off limits for a week.

Spring Semester at Pardes
Overall, life has been much better this semester than in the fall. Most of the things I hated about getting used to life in Israel I have gotten used to. A week in my life.
I'm sorry I haven't posted in a really long time. I'm still alive. My life's just not that exciting most of the time, so I haven't felt the need to bore you with the details.
