Wilbur has what's probably a spider bite on his right ear. It's hanging down oddly, which turns out to be due to a bubble of fluid the size of a marshmallow

Eep. Is the fluid-filled bubble definitely from infection, or could it be from a hematoma?

Google says a hematoma is a bruise, blood clot or other collection of blood under the skin. I suspect it'll be clear fluid like a blister.
