Hi LJ. It's been a while. I've missed you.

Last time we spoke I was smack dab in the middle of an insanely busy week and I had just come down with the flu. Since then ( I've bought a car, made a wedding dress, finished midterms and gotten behind in a lot of stuff )

I saw pictures of the dress... beautiful!

Also, I just finished a wedding dress right in time for the wedding... and was also delayed, but due to a car accident... why does that have to happen?

Thanks! I was especially happy with the way I was able to utilize the fabric's border and ribbon detailing.

I told her that I hoped sincerely that the "dress drama" was the ONLY drama involved in the wedding. Isn't it weird how things can get out of control so quickly? Sorry you had a "similar experience". boo! hiss!

I understand the glee at being able to use borders and ribbon for great detailing.. :)

It is weird. I had the timing planned out with lots of room for things that might come up, but it turns out not enough for a car accident back injury. *sigh*

I've been working pretty much every day for the last month-plus. I got paid to go camping & canoeing with my students for 4 days. My cell phone got stolen, so I lost everyone's phone numbers (hint hint), a student started an electrical fire in class that same day. Dan's going back to school. I went out to the Mercury for the first time in (I think, five) years. My parents headed out on a cruise to who-knows-where and so I'm driving their car around until they return. What else? 4th grade one day, then high school, then kindergarten, then middle school, then kindergarten again, then sped... it's been interesting!
Can't brain more than that right now.
Need to see you!

What's Dan gonna take at school this time?

I'm guessing you hated the high school, but are you getting a feel for what you DO like? I LOVE that you're working so much: it's GREAT for you!

How's Jamison doing in his current care situation? You agonized over it, has it been working out?

I'm swamped until after Orycon (Thanksgiving), so HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Want to see you too, how about a weeknight right after Thanksgiving?

Dan's foot/feet have been getting progressively worse (I suspect it's because his weight is not getting any better), so standing on his feet all day isn't working out for him. Not to mention he's not getting a job in ANYTHING, even seasonal work, so a new spin on the career thing is in the works. And it's paid for, mostly, so whatever. Just whatever, at this point ( ... )

I put pictures of Niall up on Flickr, I've put up a few posts with pictures of him. I've been meaning to update on several other things - PPD, us having to default on our house, etc but just haven't gotten around to it.

Good to see you again! Congrats on all the good stuff. I totally chuckled out loud about the glitter in the car...it's definitely a sign! :D

I have way too much going on in the past month, but here's the gist:

The Good: I'll have 2 panels at the NWC Art Show, so there will be more fantasy art being created for it.

The Bad: Our beloved little Miette passed away after getting sick and having seizures. We did tons of tests, and the vet not only can't rule out toxic mold, but she thinks it's likely that's what killed her. We are heartbroken.

The Ugly: After our test petri dish started growing gunk, we found the source of the mold...the front of the living room carpet, from the corner of the wall to the middle of the room. Miette slept on the floor in the sunbeams all the time. Property owner is going to look at the apt on Friday, but we don't know what's going to happen. At least now we have an idea of what's been making me so sick too. :(

I'm looking forward to 2010! :D

I know that you are devastated to lose your Miette, I'm so very sorry to hear this.

I'm allergic to mold, but I don't know much about what you can do to get rid of it. Do you have a dehumidifier? Have you tried spraying diluted bleach water on the walls and windows?

Good luck, and I hope sincerely that the property management company helps you out.
