Okay, so after watching and reading quite a bit, I have come to the conclusion that NPH is a method actor. That's how he remembers everything about his character, can act like him without lines, and seems to have different personalities all the time. He uses Barney-isms all the time when he's in Barney mode - he says Awesome more, and "B T Dub" and stuff. I've noticed he's very different in old interviews.

But it depends who's interviewing him. He's so different with people like Ellen or Craig Ferguson, who he loves, from someone like Letterman.

His face is way too expressive to hide any emotion. He's just like Hugh Laurie. They wear their emotions on their sleeve... or faces as the case might be.

Barney seems to do different smiles than Billy, full wide grin, Billy seems to do slightly crooked smiles and not show as much teeth. But his way of getting mad for both is the same, he wrinkles his nose, furrows his brow, thrust his lower jaw forward, and narrows his eyes.

I've heard him say on commentaries and an interview - I think - that he is a method actor. To be fair he said so after saying that one of the girls who were suppose to slap him actually cried after doing so because they thought he was hurt... But he said it!

Although no else seems to agree... I'm gonna say a day late.
