Remember I said I wouldn't be cosplaying at Comic-Con this year? Well, I *did* bring along some very basic stuff for a Blade Runner-esque costume. Straw fedora, trench coat, khakis, black LA monogram (Dodgers logo) t-shirt. I had my ticket and my ID in a wallet around my neck that looks very Law Enforcement as well, and all together it looks like ( Read more... )

You're sweet, but talent had nothing to do with it...just lucky acquisitions. The straw fedora and the trench coat were from Goodwill. As I mentioned, the umbrella was from ThinkGeek. The LA T-shirt was from the local swap meet. The khakis were from (ugh) Sith*Mart. I lucked into the "replica replicants" being there at Con.

I do take total credit for enduring walking around in a freaking lined trench coat on the floor of San Diego Comic-Con. The poor guy portraying Roy Batty was in a Pleather jacket. He had it worse than me. And yet! he still kept his good humor. Of all the folks out there he looked and acted the most like his character. He had to mime because he was not allowed to speak. Didn't have the right mix of Dutch, British and American accent that Rutger Hauer has, I guess.

Oh wow, how neat! Congrats on the prize. I guess I just missed seeing you at Comic-Con (I saw those Blade Runner guys around quite a bit).
